儒勒·凡尔纳的《海底两万里》里,有这样的句子出现:

-- They could not tell; but, on examination of the ship's bottom when undergoing repairs, it was found that part of her keel was broken.

-- The 13th of April, 1867, the sea being beautiful, the breeze favourable, the Scotia, of the Cunard Company's line, found herself in 15脗掳 12' long.

-- He found that the sea was pouring into the fifth compartment; and the rapidity of the influx proved that the force of the water was considerable.

-- Some of these tusks have been found buried in the bodies of whales, which the unicorn always attacks with success.

-- One of the sailors conducted me to the poop, where I found myself in the presence of a good-looking officer, who held out his hand to me.

 

戴维·赫伯特·劳伦斯的《恋爱中的女人》里,有这样的句子出现:

-- The sisters found themselves confronted by a void, a terrifying chasm, as if they had looked over the edge.

-- Then she found his hand, and grasped it in her own firm, small clasp.

-- We found him in the road, starving.

-- At the back were trees, among which were to be found the stables, and the big kitchen garden, behind which was a wood.

艾米利·勃朗特的《呼啸山庄》里,有这样的句子出现:

-- I found him very intelligent on the topics we touched; and before I went home, I was encouraged so far as to volunteer another visit to morrow.

罗伯特·路易斯·史蒂文森的《金银岛》里,有这样的句子出现:
